Nutritious Vida is a virtual private practices specializing in vegan nutrition and wellness for all ages of the life cycle. From pregnancy to adulthood, we help each individual feel confident in meeting their nutrient needs on a vegan lifestyle. Whether you’re just starting out in your transition or have been following a vegan lifestyle for many years, we get to know your unique goals and inspire you to make healthy choices in your own life so that you can lead a safe and nourishing plant-based lifestyle.
Hi, I’m Karla and I am a Registered Dietitian who enjoys to cook plant-based meals from various ethnic backgrounds using my collection of spices. I eat a variety of foods, from fresh green salads to veggie-loaded pizzas and vegan donuts. I believe that all foods fit into our dietary pattern and we should enjoy what we want to eat without limitations.
I became interested in cooking when I began my journey to veganism back in 2008. I became a vegan to not partake in factory farming practices and to widen my circle of compassion for the animals and the sustainability of our environment.
My transition to a new lifestyle wasn't quite that easy. I grew up in a Mexican culture which was centered around traditional foods that predominantly included animal products. So I picked up The Vegetarian Times magazine to help me prepare vegan-friendly meals. I will admit that it was challenging at first but as I continued to try a variety of foods, I began to enjoy this amazing cuisine and learned how to create meals that were easy and tasty. Now, with my background and passion for nutrition, I am able create flavorful meals that are also nutritionally balanced to ensure I am meeting all the nutrients I need to thrive and maintain a healthy vegan lifestyle.
My journey to veganism led me to create Nutritious Vida, a platform that brings together my passion for cooking and nutrition to help educate and inspire others in adopting a healthful vegan lifestyle. Cooking plant-based foods doesn’t have to be difficult, which is why I have dedicated this site to share practical, tasty, and nutritious vegan meals.
I am originally from Southern California and relocated to Minneapolis, Minnesota in late 2017. In my spare time, you can find me jogging a new trail, visiting a cozy coffee shop, or trying out a new vegan restaurant with my husband Luke. He is a cinematographer and also my partner on the blog where he takes the recipe photos and videos.
Karla Moreno-Bryce, MDA, RD, LD is a Registered Dietitian and a Licensed Dietitian. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Anthropology through the University of California Santa Barbara while studying to go to medical school. She later went on to obtain a post-baccalaureate in Nutrition & Dietetics at Cal Poly Pomona. She completed a Dietetic Internship through Utah State University and also obtained a Masters of Dietetic Administration. She is credentialed through the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Karla is also fluent in Spanish.
