Hi, I'm Karla!

I’m a Registered Dietitian (RD), a vegan and animal advocate, lover of nature and coffee shops. I am thrilled to have you visiting my site!

Helping others achieve their self-attained nutritional goals through a non-diet approach is one of the things I love most about my career. It brings me joy to see that educating others about what I’m most passionate about – nutrition and wellbeing – facilitates change in other's lives.

That is why I created Nutritious Vida, a bilingual platform that serves for anyone wanting to achieve a healthier lifestyle through more plant-based foods. My blog is 100% plant-based and it’s meant to give you the tools and nutritional information to begin or continue a more plant-based lifestyle with practical, delicious recipes. To help guide you, download my FREE e-book here outlining my top 5 tips on transitioning to a plant-based lifestyle.

My philosophy starts by truly enjoying my food and have fun preparing it. It's about nourishing my body with foods that are closest to their natural state as possible and still enjoy other scrumptious treats that life has to offer. One of the main reasons I chose to live a vegan lifestyle is to not partake in factory farming and reduce my impact on the environment. Read about why I became a vegan on my blog post.

I currently live in Central Coast California with my husband, Luke. In our spare time we enjoy playing tennis, trying out new coffee shops and restaurants with vegan options, or simply explore a new area. He is also my working partner on the blog, where he takes the majority of the photos using his skills as a cinematographer and video editor.
